Week 3: May 13 – May 19
The Casually Cool Award
What do you like to do for fun?
Spare time for fun is at a premium in my life. Between Serving on the Dayton School Board, practicing law and being active in the community, it may seem like that I’m not having much fun. The secret is, I actually find fun in everything that I do. I enjoy my work and my community involvement. When I’m not doing that, I’m spending time with family and friends, reading, watching movies and either playing or watching soccer.
Week 2: May 6 – May 12
The Workplace Image Award
What do you find most rewarding about your job?
The most reward part of my work is helping people making their dream of becoming a US citizen come true. The process is not always easy and the current climate surrounding immigration in our country is continuous at best, seeing the smiles on people’s faces as they pass their immigration exam and interview makes it all worthwhile.
Week 1: April 24 – May 5
The First Impressions Award
What made you decide to pursue your current career or vocation?
Much of what I am today has been due to the kindness and generosity of others. Having gone through war zones and refugee camps, I am keenly aware of the fact that much of my success is because of the kindness of strangers. Returning the favor and passing on that kindness has always been a mission of mine and what better way to help people than becoming an attorney. I chose Immigration law because of my personal ties to the immigration system, my family arrived as refugees to the United States when I was 10 years old.
