Week 3: May 13 – May 19
The Casually Cool Award
What do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy running, biking, traveling, attending live concerts, and socializing with friends. I have run two marathons, a 50K (31 mile) ultra run, dozens of half marathons, and numerous shorter races offer the past few years. I pace several races, helping others achieve their timing goals. I often ride my bike downtown from Kettering to take in live music at the new Levitt Pavilion, and meet up with friends in the Oregon district. I am currently exploring the Western United States, most recently visiting Yellowstone National Park, and will visit Zion National Park this summer, where I will compete in a half marathon. I stay busy!

What do you find most rewarding about your job?
The legal field provides me the opportunity to tackle complex, difficult issues and distill them into discrete manageable tasks. We provide creative solutions to new and difficult problems, and craft nuanced responses to difficult legal questions. Most importantly, my current position provides me with the opportunity work with interesting and highly intelligent colleagues and adversaries. It’s a difficult but rewarding field in which to work!
Week 1: April 24 – May 5
The First Impressions Award
What made you decide to pursue your current career or vocation?
I chose to pursue the law after taking a few law related courses while pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Miami University. I enjoyed the complex, logical nature of the law. Additionally, I saw that the legal field presents varied, interesting challenges on a regular basis. After shadowing a lawyer for a short period, I decided it presented a great opportunity for a rewarding career.
