Week 3: Casually Cool

What do you like to do for fun?

In my time away from work, I love to focus on what is most important to me. My hobbies include cooking, fitness and nutrition, traveling and spending time with family and friends. When I’m not at work, you can most likely find me practicing hot yoga, working out at a gym, traveling to new places and checking out the local hot spots (restaurants, breweries, etc.) or simply cuddling up on the couch with my new husband and my dog, Leila. My biggest passion is perfecting my culinary skills by hosting dinner parties for my friends and family. I would love to someday open my own restaurant.

What do you find most rewarding about your job?

First and foremost, you are only as good as the team you work with. Each member of the team has unique strengths and adds a vital part to the success of the group. I try to focus on the development of my team every day. The people I work with on a daily basis inspire me to put my best foot forward in everything I do. It is also inspiring to work for a major family-owned corporation that started from the ground up in a small town. As a benefit of that, I have and continue to be involved in many special projects toward new product development. It is exciting to see where the company started from and the possibilities that lie ahead.

Week 1: First Impressions

What made you decide to pursue your current career or vocation? With a degree in marketing and a 12-year history in retail management, I knew that when searching for my current career, I wanted to pursue a similar occupation that would utilize my skills. I had moved around a lot with previous management positions and was ready to find something more stable in the corporate world when I decided to move back closer to my hometown after being away for 16 years. Being from the New Bremen area, I knew that Crown Equipment was a great company to work for who gave a lot back to the local community. When the position for Inside Sales Manager opened up, I jumped at the opportunity to interview with one of the leading manufacturers of material handling products and have not had a single regret since that day.
