Accessory of Empowerment
My glasses empower me. For one thing, a couple of years ago, my reading vision just went. So these tortoise shell specs are a necessity, but also fit my personality. I feel a bit more together when wearing them, and God help us all when I can’t find them!
Shoes of Empowerment
These are some wingtips I’ve had for years. I always feel especially sharp in them. I like these shoes because they are pretty timeless. They looked good ten years ago, they look good now and they will look good in the future. If only I held up as well as these shoes!
Outfit of Empowerment
I am a refugee from the world of business casual, so when I started working at United Way and our CEO mentioned that when facing the public, we should look professional, I was excited. This is an old Brooks Brothers suit I bought for a wedding I was in. I look a bit like a funeral director from 1989, but every time I wear it, I feel like an adult and someone inevitability says, “Hey, nice outfit!”
