Education Specialist
Job Description


Reports to: Executive Director
Hours: Part-time, Hourly, Non-exempt
Schedule: Normal business hours Monday through Friday; some evenings & weekends required


Position Summary
The Education Specialist supports the mission, vision and values of Clothes That Work by planning and coordinating the organization’s education program, the Workplace Image Institute, and general training programs. The Education Specialist will support the development of, and implement education and training programs that enhance skill development and increased knowledge with an adult learning population. The Education Specialist monitors and reports on the effectiveness of CTW’s education and training programs.

Primary Responsibilities
Curricula Development (15%)

  • Plans and designs curricula for educational programs; researches and defines educational goals, objectives, and methodologies to meet program goals
  • Determines formats and approaches to achieve program objectives
  • Writes, edits, and coordinates development of workshops, educational materials and training manuals
  • Writes curricula for volunteer training modules
  • Develop data collection tools and methods to measure program effectiveness

Project Management (80%)

  • Organizes and delivers and/or facilitates classes, workshops, and other training services
  • Manages team of volunteers to execute educational workshops
  • Prepares presentations and relevant educational materials
  • Monitors and administers program revenues and expenses; may develop or participate in the development of funding proposals for the program
  • Coordinates participant registration for all workshops
  • Provides on-going trainings/meetings with volunteer trainers
  • Develops and maintains records and databases on workshop participants, materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Develops data collection system; collects, processes and analyses data from workshop participants and reports quarterly on program progress

General (5%)

  • Work directly with Development and Marketing department on production of workshop and training materials and education program promotions
  • Represent CTW professionally and engage with community partners when needed, and as requested
  • Performs other education and training job-related duties as requested

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Communication, or Social Work from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in curricula development for in-person training, content research and/or evaluation, or managing a training program
  • High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in leading and facilitating training with varying audiences
  • Excellent and timely customer service skills
  • Strong leadership skills with experience providing guidance to, and managing volunteers
  • Experience working in inclusive and diverse environments, with demonstrated ability to relate with poise and self-confidence to diverse groups and stakeholders
  • Comfort and agility in community engagement and developed skills in managing relationships
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Data analysis and reporting experience a plus
