Our Mission
Clothes That Work provides interview appropriate clothing and personalized, confidence building image services for clients.
Fairy Godmother Project
The Fairy Godmother Project is a project that originated with support from Disney On Ice in an effort to allow every girl to feel like a princess on her prom day. We at Clothes That Work were so taken by the impact of this project on local girls that we have continued to make the Fairy Godmother Project an annual event.
In advance of the dress distribution, our partners from the Dayton chapter of The Links, Incorporated conduct an online essay contest with top finishers winning additional prom goods such as limousine transportation, dinners, hair and nail services, tuxedo rentals for their dates, corsages and boutonnieres and more. For details about the essay contest, click here: 2012 Essay Contest
Each year over 500 girls arrive to find that we have sorted and stocked prom gowns in a department store-like setting with girls able to try on as many dresses as they like (limited to 3 at a time) until they find the perfect dress. With support from our sponsors we have expanded the event to include cake and punch for those girls attending as well as a live DJ to play music throughout the day.
Dress and accessory collection takes place at the following locations:
