LUCAS

Lucas was referred to CTW from Montgomery County Department of Job and Family Services. He arrived early for his appointment. While waiting, he voluntarily assisted another client with her clothing to the bus stop. When his Personal Shopper commented about his caring nature, he commented, "You would not have known me 8 months ago."

Lucas grew up in a bad neighborhood and turned to chemical dependency at a young age. He got into fights and had a hard time controlling his temper. It was a difficult period for him.

Happy to be in recovery with a fresh start, Lucas has made a lot of changes in his life. CTW removed one more barrier for him. Looking his professional-best in a suit from CTW, Lucas found employment. He also attended the Opportunites That Work workshop series which provided workplace skills and mentoring opportunities. Several months later, Lucas is still employed, has attained his GED and is enrolled at Sinclair Community College.

Lucas is an example of how CTW can help turn a life around. Congratulations Lucas! We are so proud of you.
