Week 3: Casually Cool
What do you like to do for fun?
The easy answer here is how much I love spending time with my family. My wife and I spend a great deal of time chasing our kids from one sporting event to the next, but PSA Airlines has also afforded us the opportunity to travel to some amazing places, so we take advantage of those opportunities as much as possible. I’m not sure many people would consider this fun, but I am also a high school football and basketball official and I really enjoy it. I do everything from little kids’ games to high school varsity and actually had the honor of officiating at the Ohio High School State Football Finals this past season. So next time you get ready to yell at an official, remember, he just might be a “Role Model.”
Week 2: Workplace Image
What do you find most rewarding about your job?
This is possibly the easiest question you could ever ask a member of a recruiting team. I literally have the opportunity to change people’s lives every time I step foot in the office at PSA Airlines. Whether it is connecting a candidate with that perfect opportunity or helping steer them down a different path, similar to the one provided to me, I get the opportunity to connect with people and be a small part of helping point their way down their eventual career path. I work around some amazing people and am part of an incredible culture at PSA, so it makes the opportunities with us a very easy sell.
Week 1: First Impressions
What made you decide to pursue your current career or vocation?
I actually feel like I partially lucked into my very first role as a recruiter. I interviewed for a sales role with a company and during the process, met with members of their recruiting and HR team. Based on my people skills and background, they thought I might be a good fit for their team. I had taken Human Resources classes while in college, so it definitely piqued my interest. That was nearly 15 years ago and you would have to drag me away from recruiting kicking and screaming now. A chance conversation has now become the career I love.
