Week 3: Casually Cool

What do you like to do for fun?

I love to sing. I don’t get out to the karaoke clubs as often as I’d like due to the late weeknight hours of most venues, however, I do enter a contest every now and then to show off my talents and meet others who have a passion for singing. Currently, I’m on the “approved” list to sing the National Anthem at a Cincinnati Reds game IF a spot becomes available. Until then, I can be found belting out tunes all over the house and in my vehicle on any given day.

When I’m not singing, I can generally be found traveling (as much as possible anyway), watching TV (which I love a little too much), and spending time with the one and only fur-love of my life – Jasper. He’s a 100 pound, 7-year old “baby” who loves hugs, walks and pretty much any other attention he can get.

Week 2: Workplace Image

What do you find most rewarding about your job?

I am fortunate to work for a company where diversity is extremely valued. I have learned so much over the years from others who look at things in a different way and/or view a situation or set of circumstances from a different perspective that often helps me put my own thoughts in order. At the very least, I end up appreciating it from both sides instead of what may be my own struggle with a situation. I work with a group of people who encourage others to work to their full potential and position themselves to share their knowledge to the benefit of others.

Week 1: First Impressions

What made you decide to pursue your current career or vocation?

I have always been interested in math and numbers for as far back as I can remember. In high school, I signed up for Accounting & Finance classes and thoroughly enjoyed learning about general studies in those fields. After high school, I worked for a credit union for many years before moving on to the mortgage industry in the Accounts Payable Department for almost a decade. Even when I branched out to pursue other opportunities and experience, I ended up coming back to the Accounts Payable field where I believe my experience is most useful.
