When it comes to the job search…confidence can mean the difference between success and disappointment. Our unique approach to building confidence begins with a firm handshake and a welcoming smile and ends with a "new" suit and a renewed outlook on the future.
We know job seekers have a better chance of being offered a job if they “look the part.” But for hundreds of low-income job seekers in our community, looking the part can be a challenge. We collect gently used suits and other interview appropriate clothing from the community and give these items to women, men and independent teens preparing for the job search. We also coach them on the importance of proper grooming, shaking hands, making eye contact and other skills that will help them make that good first impression and get on the road towards self-reliance.
