Week 3: May 13 – May 19
The Casually Cool Award
What do you like to do for fun?
I have a vast appreciation of music. Whenever I am away from the office, I’m always doing something with music, whether it be playing, listening or watching it performed. One of my most favorite hobbies is playing the guitar, particularly to blues, classic rock, jazz, etc. I find it a wonderful way to decompress from the pressures and stresses of the workday. It is not uncommon for me to play for a few minutes while on a lunch break. I also enjoy going to see live music of any kind. I enjoy listening to music, but to see it performed live is much more intimate and enjoyable experience for me.
Week 2: May 6 – May 12
The Workplace Image Award
What do you find most rewarding about your job?
Collaborative effort. The most rewarding aspect of my job is the ability to make a substantial impact while just being a small part of the “puzzle.” In working on a case or investigation, the most rewarding aspect, I find, is working towards a bigger, collective means. No matter how small the “puzzle-piece,” each collective “piece” is vital to the final display of art, and each piece has its own unique place.
Week 1: April 24 – May 5
The First Impressions Award
What made you decide to pursue your current career or vocation?
I have always wanted to help people. In being an attorney, I find one of the most interesting aspects of law is that even though your client may not get the most desired result, you can still advocate for them to get a more favorable outcome, rather than the worst outcome. Another reason why I decided to pursue a career in the legal field is, I have always had a passion for helping people who, due to any number of circumstances, cannot help/defend themselves. Because of this, I have always had an appreciation for programs that are geared towards legally assisting indigent clients. The major theme of why I became an attorney: Helping people.
