7 tips to help get your year off to a great start!
Time management is a crucial skill for not only for your work but also for your overall happiness and sense of accomplishment in life. When you become a master of the minutes in your day, you achieve more and feel a sense of pride in yourself.
- Declutter your space
Removing clutter can be the first step to being more productive. A messy workspace usually means time wasted looking for things and can cause you to be easily distracted.
- Make a to-do list
Best way to stay on top of your tasks is by making a to-do list. You will then be able to focus on each task individually and have a sense of accomplishment when you check things off your list.
- Prioritize
After you have your to-do list, prioritize it. You can order tasks differently depending on importance, difficulty, or amount of time it will take to accomplish each task.
- Set achievable goals
One way to stay motivated is to be realistic with your time and expectations.
- Don’t multi-task
Most people think multitasking is a good thing. It is not. Attempting to multitask makes you less productive, less effective and efficient, and you are more apt to make mistakes.
- Reward yourself
To help keep yourself motivated and on task, reward yourself with a small break or treat for successfully completing a project. Have a coffee or a quick walk outside after finishing something on your list.
- Stay off social media
This should be a given. If you want to be more productive, eliminate distractions. If you find yourself unable to resist the temptation of checking social media accounts, turn off your notifications or turn your phone on airplane mode
