Reports to: Executive Director

Hours: Full-time, salary (40 hours)

Schedule:   Normal business hours Monday through Friday; some evenings & weekends required

Salary: 52 – 56K/yr (based on relevant experience)

Position Summary

The Communication Manager oversees all efforts to promote Clothes That Work and provides support for the organization’s initiatives, events, projects, and programs. The position is responsible for supporting brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and identity standards, creating and implementing a comprehensive and integrated marketing strategic plan for all external, and internal communications objectives and tactics that drive growth, enhance brand equity, and protect Clothes That Work’s reputation. This position provides additional support to both Director of Programs and Outreach, and Director of Development to ensure successful promotion of Clothes That Work events, direct mail campaigns, and other duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:

Marketing and Communication

  • Develop and execute comprehensive organizational marketing, communications, and social media plan
  • Develop and execute content for social media and online communications (website, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Constant Contact)
  • Develop written communication across the organization and all platforms (i.e. speech writing, newsletters, press releases, online, ad copy, presentations, donor acknowledgment templates)
  • Provide planning, management, and execution support for events (i.e. Luncheon, donor events, volunteer events)
  • Utilize graphic design skills to produce high-quality print, digital, and video items
  • Collaborate with leadership to create collateral and content to support new initiatives and campaigns
  • Work within the established budgets and timelines
  • Work effectively with outside creative agencies, printers, and vendors
  • Oversee the annual report design, writing, production, and distribution
  • Provide content for timely updates to the website
  • Develop annual direct mail campaign and LYBUNT mailings in partnership with the Development team
  • Represent CTW at trade shows, job fairs, or campaign events
  • Manage and maintain mailing lists
  • Assist with other duties/activities as assigned

Fundraising and Events

  • Assist in the coordination and execution of major events and fundraisers (i.e. Fashioning Futures Luncheon, donor events, volunteer events)
    • Provide assistance to event planning committees in the pre-event stages
    • Provide materials for Director of Development to coordinate with sponsors
  • Assist with the production and distribution of event invitations and programs, tracking RSVPs and other event-related materials.

Requirements and Competencies

Bachelor’s Degree with 3-6 years of marketing, business development, or fundraising in an office environment. Demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Demonstrated skills in graphic design utilizing applications like Adobe Creative Suite applications (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and Canva. Ability to operate and maintain office equipment including a desktop computer, scanner, multi-line telephone, and copier. Familiarity with technology tools including the internet, voicemail, and e-mail systems.

  • Professional appearance and appropriate business etiquette
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Hootsuite, Constant Contact, Canva, Adobe and WordPress highly desired.
  • Writing experience required

Work Environment:

  • Sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods of time; Pushing or pulling wheeled carts or garment racks
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching overhead
  • Occasional evening and weekend work periods
  • Very little travel required beyond a 30-mile radius
