Why Should You Vote For Me?
Don’t vote for me. Vote for the cause. Please. Whatever you choose to do with your life, be proud of who you’ve become. This may be a long road, but it is the responsibility of a role model to commemorate the lesson, gather strength, and develop character.
Accessory of Empowerment
As a general rule, I don not focus on wearing accessories. However, I do think an extension of this request might best be answered by the small collection of Moleskine journals I keep. Inside these journals are a collection of hundreds of doodles I have kept over the years. Many from meetings or brainstorming sessions where they have helped me think or focus on solutions. It is a visual diary of sorts of where my thoughts were at various times, what was being reflected around me and how I might have been reacting to them? My “Doodle Journal” allows me to focus on problems or situations that require my utmost attention. While it may seem to be a reaction to the opposite, it is not and it gives me a visual journey of my thought processes and how I have moved through many ideas and solutions. I am a visual person by nature. I learn by seeing and doing. I am known (by some) as a creative problem solver. This collection of journals has framed my history, experiences and growth to the person I am today.
Shoes of Empowerment
Shoes are the underlying symbol of them man that wears them. They are what wheels are to a car, a frame to a painting or drapes to a window. They complete the presentation without the overshadowing of the individual who wears them. Quality shoe leather actually improves with age, as it develops a deep, rich shine from years of polish and so should the man who invests in them. The shoes I wear (Classic Wingtips with an accented colored sole and two-tone upper leather) remind me of the early 20th century business man. They are comfortable foremost and classic in design and shape, much of what I believe and how I approach managing our business. While I do not take fashion risks, I choose to minimize the stress and decision making out of my wardrobe by simplifying my color palette and style variations. This gives me the psychological satisfaction of making more interesting and creative decisions with my line of work.
Outfit of Empowerment
The clothes I choose to wear are intended to make me feel confident and allow me to perceive the world differently. Putting on formal clothes encourages me to use abstract processing more readily than concrete processing. I also feel a need to project and represent not only myself, but all the people I work with and represent in the same manner.
